When creating a style guide I always approach with two lens. First as a marketer, and making sure we are providing a consistent and cohesive voice as our brand. And secondly as an artist, making sure the rules are actionable and clear.
In my past experience working in enetertainment design, I had plenty of time to become familiar with some of the most robust style guides out there. But in the indie/startup space I've found less is more: clarity is key.
